Conifer Community Garden at St. Laurence
About the Garden
PUT YOUR GREEN THUMB TO WORK AT CONIFER COMMUNITY GARDEN AT ST. LAURENCE!
Do you dream of growing healthy, fresh vegetables on an arable plot of land? Or maybe nurturing bright fresh flowers to cut and bring home. Or maybe just digging in the dirt with your kids while chatting with others who love the land? If so, come join us at Confer Community Garden at St. Laurence. The garden is located at St. Laurence Episcopal Church, 26812 Barkley Rd, Conifer. Groundwork for the garden was laid figuratively and literally in 2014 by the parishioners of St. Laurence. Their dream was, and is to create a gathering place for all the community to share love for both working the sacred earth to feed us and also creating a spot where we can interact with our neighbors.
In February 2020, the Community Garden provided a free Seed Starting class which was hosted by the Natural Grocers/Vitamin Cottage store in Conifer Town Center. Then in April, we presented our 4th annual High Altitude Gardening Class which, because of the coronavirus, was presented virtually and attended by over 150 gardeners statewide over a two-day period. Planned, but unable to be held in September because of Covid-19 protocols, we planned to hold a canning and preserving class. We are hoping that in 2022 we will be able to hold these classes. Watch here for updates.
